Eufemia von Adlersfeld-Ballestrem (1854–1941)

Adlersfeld-Ballestrem, Eufemia von (bäl’les-trām). A German novelist and poet; born at Ratibor, Aug. 18, 1859; died in 1941. Married to Major von Adlersfeld in 1884, she lived at Karlsruhe after 1889. Of her novels may be mentioned: ‘Lady Melusine’ (1878); ‘The Falconers of Falcon Court’ (1890). A collection of lyrics, ‘Drops in the Ocean’ (1878), a romantic poem, ‘Raoul the Page’ (1881), and the drama ‘A Meteor’ (1880), bear witness to her poetic talent.
