James Vila Blake (1842–1925)

Blake, James Vila. An American poet, essayist, and Unitarian divine; born in Brooklyn, NY, 1842; died in 1925. He settled in Chicago. He wrote: ‘Essays’ (1886); ‘Poems and Essays’ (2 vols., 1887); ‘Legends from Story Land’; ‘Sonnets’ (1902); ‘Discoveries’ (1904); and several plays.
