François Marie Boisard (1744–1833)

Boisard, François Marie (bwä-zär’). A French fabulist (1744–1833). Of all the French fabulists he is least an imitator of the great La Fontaine. His ‘Fables’ were at first published in the newspaper Mercure de France, and afterwards gathered in two collections. His ‘Ode on the Deluge’ was crowned by the Rouen Academy, 1790.
