Joseph Bouchardy (1810–1870)
Bouchardy, Joseph (bö-shär-dē’). A French dramatic poet; born at Paris, in 1810; died on May 28, 1870. He was at first associated with Eugène Deligny in dramatic composition, and afterward composed a series of comedies alone. Notable among his productions are: ‘Gaspardo the Fisherman’; ‘The Foundlings’; ‘The Orphans of Antwerp’; ‘The Cavalier’s Secret’; ‘The Armorer of Santiago.’
