Willis John Abbot (1863–1934)

Abbot, Willis John. An American journalist and author; born at New Haven, CT, March 16, 1863; died in 1934. He was an editorial writer on the New York American. With the exception of a ‘Life of Carter Harrison,’ his works consist principally of popular histories for young people, among which are: ‘Blue Jackets of 1776’; ‘Blue Jackets of 1812’; ‘Blue Jackets of ’61’; ‘Battle Fields and Camp Fires’; ‘American Ships and Sailors.’
