Emil Aarestrup (1800–1856)

Aarestrup, Emil (â’re-ströp). A Danish poet (1800–56). Acknowledged as one of the foremost lyric poets of Denmark, he is ranked by critics next to Christian Winther. ‘Collected Poems,’ with critical sketch by G. Brandes (Copenhagen, 1877).
