Jakob Frey (1824–1875)

Frey, Jakob. A Swiss novelist; born at Gutenschwyl in Aargau, May 13, 1824; died in 1875. His novels are few in number, but they are to be classed with the finest productions of Swiss literary genius. They are: ‘Between Jura and Alps’ (1858); ‘The Orphan Girl of Hollizen’ (1863); ‘Swiss Portraits’ (in three parts, 1864–77).
