Orville James Victor (1827–1910)

Victor, Orville James. An American journalist, editor, and author; born in Sandusky, OH, Oct. 23, 1827; died in 1910. He edited the Art Journal; the United States Journal; the ‘Dime Biographical Library’ for which he wrote many books; Beadle’s Magazine (1866–67); and published ‘History of the Southern Rebellion’ (4 vols., 1862–65); ‘Incidents and Anecdotes of the War’ (1863); and ‘History of American Conspiracies’ (1864); ‘Biographies.’
