Pierre de Larivey (c. 1540–1619)
Larivey, Pierre de (lä-rē-vā’). A French dramatist (c. 1540–1619). His prose comedies, founded on Italian originals, are full of life and spirit, and had an influence on Molière. Larivey’s best comedy, ‘Les Esprits,’ is an adaptation of Lorenzo de’ Medici’s ‘Aridosio.’
