Titus Tobler (1806–1877)

Tobler, Titus (tō’bler). A Swiss philologist and traveler, born at Stein, Appenzell, June 25, 1806; died at Munich, Jan. 21, 1877. He wrote: ‘A Pleasure Trip to the Land of the Morning’ (1839); ‘Bethlehem in Palestine’ (1849); ‘Third Journey to Palestine’ (1859); ‘Nazareth in Palestine’ (1868).
