Vilhelm Thomsen (1842–1927)

Thomsen, Vilhelm Ludvig Peder (tom’sen). A Danish philologist; born at Copenhagen, Jan. 25, 1842; died in 1927. His principal works are: ‘The Magyar Language’ (1866); ‘Influence of the Germanic Languages on the Finno-Lappish’ (1870); ‘Relations between Ancient Russia and Scandinavia’ (1879); ‘Relations between the Finnish and the Baltic Languages’ (1890).
