Question

Hi :) It's a significant figures question - I was wondering if you count 12.4kg as 3 significant figures or not. The key answers (written in the photo) for the question didn't seem like they counted 12.4kg as sig figs... or (1) did and (2) didn't, in order to match the sig fig for the money value of $1255 (4 significant figures...)...?
