I am studying for a precalculus exam and I am stuck on this problem and would like help. 

 

Question 9 is the one I'm working. The orange line is around where I believe I messed up. Below that line is an answer I got from a calculator in order to finish question 10. I need help understanding how to complete question 9 without using an internet calculator.
