A puck of mass m = 1.10 kg slides in a circle of radius r = 18.0 cm on a frictionless table while attached to a hanging cylinder of mass M = 2.30 kg by a cord through a hole in the table. What speed keeps the cylinder at rest?

Expert Answer

Step 1

Since, the cylindrical mass is hanged to the rotating mass on the table; the centripetal force of the rotating mass is provided by the tension force on the cord that will be equal to the weight of the cylindrical mass.

Step 2
