ACI Group is evaluating the proposal of a new RMG factory called ACI Exclusive Fabrics. The
project will have a life cycle of six years. The Group has
business and therefore, wants to evaluate a new project plan. ACI Group is renting a premise of
50,000 Square feet in Savar and ACI Exclusive Fabrics is planning to use 10,000 Square feet from
this facility. The rest of the premise is currently being used by another RMG factory of ACI
Group called ACI Fabrics. The ACI Fabrics has already started its production. Using the new
machine, ACI Fabrics is selling 50,000 cloth per year at $4 per cloth. Total capital cost for ACI
Exclusive Fabrics is USD 80,000 and is
to a zero-salvage value. The cash flow from asset for ACI Exclusive Fabrics is USD 35000 in the
first year, followed by USD 30000 in the second year and USD 25000 in the third year. The
annual total rent of 50,000 Square feet premise is USD 35,000. The cash flow from asset for ACI
Exclusive Fabrics will be USD 20,000 in the fourth year and USD 15000 in the fifth year. ACI
Exclusive Fabrics will need to annually pay USD 6000 as staff’s festival bonus. Assume, initially
ACI Exclusive Fabrics will require USD 5,000 in working capital for this project. However, after
the project they will not receive any amount from the working capital. The monthly salary
expense will be USD 3500, whereas annual utility and other expense will be USD 3,000. The
required
rate is zero per cent and cash flow from asset in the final year is USD 10,000. Besides, there are
no additional
Fabrics. Show detailed calculation

- Electronic Measurement and Control Company (EMCC) has developed a laser speed detector that emits infrared light invisible to humans and radar detectors alike. For full-scale commercial marketing, EMCC needs to invest $5 million in new manufacturing facilities. The system is priced at $3,000 per unit. The company expects to sell 5,000 units annually over the next five years. The new manufacturing facilities will be depreciated according to a seven-year MACRS property class. The expected salvage value of the manufacturing facilities at the end of five years is $1.6 million. The manufacturing cost for the detector is $1,200 per unit excluding depreciation expenses. The operating and maintenance costs are expected to run to $1.2 million per year. EMCC has a combined federal and state income-tax rate of 35%, and undertaking this project will not change this current marginal tax rate.(a) Determine the incremental taxable income, income taxes, and net income that would result from…arrow_forwardA new manufacturing facility will produce two products, each of which requires a drilling operation during processing. Two alternative types of drilling machines (D1 and D2) are being considered for purchase. One of these machines must be selected. For the same annual demand, the annual production requirements (machine hours) and the annual operating expenses (per machine) are listed in the shown Table. Which machine should be selected if the MARR is 15% per year? Show all your work to support your recommendation. Assumptions: The facility will operate 2,000 hours per year. Machine availability is 80% for Machine D1 and 75% for Machine D2. The yield of D1 is 90%, and the yield of D2 is 80%. Annual operating expenses are based on an assumed operation of 2,000 hours per year, and workers are paid during any idle time of Machine D1 or Machine D2. State any other assumptions needed to solve the problem.arrow_forward
