Assignment Dani's Dinnerware manufactures and sells two types of dinnerware to retail stores; ceramic dinnerware and stoneware dinnerware. Dani's sells 4 piece place sets that include a dinner plate, a salad plate, a soup bowl and a coffee cup. Dani's also sells dinner plates, salad plates, soup bowls and coffee cups separately Dani's also sells larger serving platters, small serving platters and large serving bowls. Dani's has a very limited product line for its ceramic customers, which inhibits new customer growth. Dani's ceramic customers are very loyal. Dani's has historically developed new creative stoneware products in the very price sensitive stoneware market. The overall unit sales growth rate in the dinnerware market is 2% per year. Dani's has just signed up a new large warehouse customer for its stoneware products. This customer alone is expected to increase Dani's unit stoneware sales by 15%. The lower price offered this customer is expected to reduce Dani's average selling prices by 5 percentage points, beyond any normal market price changes.
