The dipole moment of a molecule is the measure of the net molecular polarity. A dipole moment is created when there is a difference in electronegativity between the bonded atoms.

The net dipole moment can be predicted from the shape of the molecule. If is it symmetrical, net dipole moment is zero.

Greater the electronegativity difference between the bonded atoms greater is the dipole moment.

Step 3

ICl and IF :

The structure of ICl and IF is not symmetrical so both will have some net dipole moment.
