Explain how flagella function to allow bacteria to perform chemotaxis

The movement of an organism in response to a stimulus is known as chemotaxis. Somatic cells, bacteria, and many other unicellular and multicellular organisms direct their movements according to certain chemicals in the environment. For bacteria, chemotaxis is important to search for food by swimming towards food molecule,s or to flee from poison.
