Explain the structural features of the most common hydrolyzable lipids ?

The constituents of animal and plant soluble in organic solvents (ether, chloroform etc) but insoluble in water are called lipids. Lipids can be of different types. They may be simple or conjugated. On the basis of the ability of being hydrolyzed, lipids can be classified as hydrolysable and non-hydrolysable lipids. The lipids which can undergo hydrolytic cleavage are called as hydrolysable lipids. Fats, waxes and sterol ester are considered as hydrolysable lipids.
