Geometric concept of ray
According to geometry, a ray is part of the line which has a defined fixed starting point but no endpoint means it can be extended infinitely on the other end.
Rays are usually denoted with a line fixed at one point and an arrow on another end, on the passage to infinity a ray can pass through more than one points.
The light emitted by the sun can also be considered as rays with the sun as a fixed starting point and rays of light extending indefinitely to our solar system.
