The nuclear reactions follow the conservation of atomic number and mass number of nuclei. It means the sum of mass number on both sides should be same and sum of the atomic number of nuclei should be same on both sides.

Step 3

A heavy nucleus with few neutrons can get stability by increasing the number of neutrons. That can be done either positron emission or electron capture as it converts the proton to neutron.
