Bivariate data is data with two variables. A Scatter plot is plotted to identify the relationship between any two variables. The table below gives the average weight (in kilograms) of certain people ages 1–20.

Variable \\\'Age\\\' is the explanatory variable ie it explains or predicts the difference in response variable \\\'weight\\\'. Explanatory variables are generally plotted on x-axis in a scatter plot.

To obtain scatter plot, go to excel sheet and select the data table shown above. Then click on Insert > Charts>Scatter to see the plot.
