How would I construct a stem and leaf plot using these numbers

57 54 52 55 51 56

61 68 56 55 54 61

57 51 46 54 51 52

57 49 54 42 60 69

58 64 49 51 62 64

57 48 50 56 43 46

Step 1

**Introduction:**

The numbers here are all two-digit numbers. So, you can consider the digit in the ten’s place as the stem and the digit in the unit’s place as the leaf for each number.

Step 2

**Procedure:**

First, arrange the data in an ascending order. To make it easier, you can enter the data in a column in an EXCEL sheet, select the data and on the top right corner, select **Sort & Filter > Sort Smallest to Largest**. The original and sorted data are displayed row-wise:

Step 3

**Procedure continued:**

Note that there are 3 distinct digits in the ten’s place- 4, 5, and 6. So, there should be 3 stems. However, in that case, the stem-and-leaf plot may have aa very high n umber of observations for stem 5, as there are several numbers in the 50s; the interpretation of the plot may be difficult in this case. So, each stem can be divided into 2 stems, such that the first stem corresponds to the leaf value 0 ≤ leaf ≤ 4, and the second stem corresponds to the leaf value 5 ≤ leaf ≤ 9.

For example, there are seven 7 numbers in the 40s. Some numbers are between 40 and 44, whereas some are between 45 and 49. So, there would be 2 stems named 4. Corresponding to the first stem of 4, the leaf value would be 2, 3. Corresponding to t...
