Expert Solution
Introduction

Mary Wollstonecraft was a philosopher and an advocate of women's rights during the 18th century A.D. Despite being a philosopher, her work is of importance to sociology, and especially, feminist sociology since it seeks to understand the power dynamics and other complexities of a society in their relation to gender, at both, micro and macro-levels. Wollstonecraft is most famous for her work, "A Vindication of the Rights of Women," in which she writes that women are not inferior to men, but it only appears to be the case because they lack education. Consequently, she says that, both, men and women, should be treated equally as beings capable of engaging in rational thinking, and longs for a social order that is based on reason.
