Question

A manufacturer wants to produce a weld batch with the eutectic composition. It has 250 kg of electric weld scrap with 60% p Sn-40% p Pb and 1,250 kg of plumbing weld scrap with 60% p Pb40% p Sn. If all the scrap is melted, how much of each metal needs to be added to achieve the desired composition? Consider the lead-tin phase diagram.
