In the given unit cell, small brown spheres are copper ions and the green spheres are chloride ions.  The arrangement of chloride ions is cubic-closest packed.  Copper ions occupy half of the tetrahedral holes.

Eight chloride ions are present at the corner of the cube and on each face of the cube. The contribution of ions at the corner is 1/8 and contribution of each face is 1/2.  Therefore, the total chloride ions present is calculated as,
