When Fritz drives to work his trip takes 30 minutes but when he takes the train a takes 20 minutes find the distance for its travels to work if the train travels at an average of 12 miles per hour faster than his driving assume the train travels the same distance as the car.

Refer to the question, we need to find the distance he travels to work.

The time taken when Fritz drives to work is 30 minutes or convert it into hours which is ½ hours.

Similarly while he takes train it takes 20 minutes that is 1/3 hours. Also the distance travelled by both are same.

Now as provided that the train travels at an average of 12 miles per hour faster than his driving that is if the driving speed let assume be x mile/hr then speed of train be x+12 miles/hr.
