Summary of the changes in evolution of horses

Expert Solution
Step 1

Evolution is not a simple process and neither does it happen uniformly. Ditto is the case of the evolution of the horse. Horses have a large body and a single toe within the hoof unlike their ancestors who had a small body and multiple toes in fleshy pads. However, their development into the present form was not unidirectional, from the small body and multiple toes to a large body and single toe. It was rather complicated.
