Epistasis is the phenomenon when two or more than two genes contribute to a particular phenotype. In epistasis, one gene completely masks the effect of other gene. It is of two type; recessive epistasis and dominant epistasis. In dominant epistasis, the dominant allele of one gene is suppresses the effect of the other allele present on a second gene. In recessive epistasis, the recessive allele of one gene suppresses the effect of other allele present on second gene.
