Question

Two blocks are connected by a heavy 10 kg chain. The mass of the top block is 30 kg and the mass of the lower block is 24 kg. A constant upward force of 320 N is then applied to the top block.

a) What will be the acceleration of the system and will it be upward or downward?

b) What is the force of the top block on the top link of the chain?
