First enter all data in excel sheet in a column. Now sort the data from smallest to largest. Select the complete data and under tab Home in Editing select sort from smallest to largest.

Range = maximum value - minimum value = 4.74 - 1.15 = 3.59

Now to find the variance press (=) in a cell and type function Var. Then select all 120 data points and close the brackets and press enter. You can see the Variance = 0.425551.
