Question

In a population of rabbits the mean weight of individuals in a population in generation one is 2,500 grams. The mean weight of individuals in the population in generation 1 who reproduced successfully is 2580 grams. The narrow sense heritability h2 for this trait is 0.625 Using the above information, calculate R (the response to selection) and assuming that R remains constant over multiple generations estimate the minimum number of generations it will take for the rabbit population to exceed a mean weight of 2,920 grams.
