Homo neanderthalensis are the extinct species closest to Homo sapiens. The defining features of this species is their skulls that the large middle part of the face, angled cheek bones, and a huge nose essential for humidifying and warming cold, dry air. The body of Homo neanderthalensis are shorter and stockier and their brains were as same as Homo sapiens. Neanderthals had the ability to control fire, made and used a diverse set of sophisticated tools for hunting, ate plant foods, and wear clothing.
