Phylum ascheleminthes or nemathelminthes is a phylum of unsegmented, triploblastic, pseudocoelomic, cylindrical long thread-like worms that are covered by a body wall having cuticle and epidermis. The phylum was created by Grobben in 1910 for the grouping of roundworms and related animals. Roundworms were previously placed under nemathelminthes by Gagenbaur (1859). It includes about 15000 species of both free-living and parasitic worms. The phylum has five classes- nematodes, nematophora, rotifers, kinorhyncha, and gastrotricha.
