Reflection can be defiend in many ways:
1. Reflection is a phenomena in which rays of light (or waves of sound) fall on a smooth surface and bounce back. The rays which bounce back are known as reflected rays and are found to follow certain laws, which are known as laws of reflection. So, basically reflection means throwing back of the light or the sound waves after falling on a smooth surface.
2. In terms of wavefront. Reflection is the change in direction of a wave front at an interface between two different media so that the wave front returns into the medium from which it originated. Common examples include the reflection of light, sound and water waves.
