Question

What is the difference between isometric and orthographic projection?

Expert Solution
Step 1

Projection is defined as the image of the object formed on a plane by joining the points on the contour of an object.

Step 2

The word “Isometric” is a Greek word which means “of having equal measurement.”

Isometric projection is a method of projecting the image of an object in which two-dimensional drawing or viw of a three-dimensional object is represented visually. The orientation of the plane in an isometric projection is such that the angles made with three-principal planes of the object are equal. It provides better understanding of the object. This projection is used in technical and engineering drawing.
