Anthropology

It refers to the study of humankind analyzed from the perspective of all people at all times. Biological anthropology refers to the study of human evolution, adaptation, variation in human culture, and their present and past relatives. Biological anthropology is also referred as physical anthropology.

Explanation of Solution

Human beings are both cultural and biological. They are biocultural beings. The anthropologists are keen on understanding the interrelationship between the culture and biology of human beings. Hence, the scientific study of the interrelationship between the culture and biology of human beings is called as the biocultural approach.

The biocultural approach is the hallmark of physical or biological anthropology. It is because the physical anthropology aims at studying the human biocultural variation along with the human biological evolution.
