Entity-Relationship Model (ERM) is used as a high-level logical data model depicted in the form of picture and it contains the information about the business system.

The information can be created and stored in the form of ERM diagram.

It is used to identify the individual information and the way they are interrelated in the business system.

The main purpose of E-R model is to identify the entities about which the database should store data and the relationships among those entities.
