In an information system, there are 6 fundamental components which are described as under:

Computer Hardware: Computer hardware includes computer itself. Hardware plays an important role to form a complete system. Computer hardware includes central processing unit, input devices, output devices, storage devices and communication devices.

Computer Software: Software is an important component that instructs hardware to work. Software is made up of programs. Those programs are machine readable instructions which help hardware to function.

Data: Data are the raw facts that are used by the system to generate useful information. Data are stored in the tape or disk and are used when needed...
