Where q= Heat added

c= Specific heat

m= Mass

ΔT= Change in temperature.

The unit of specific heat is Jg-1.°C .

Volume and Molarity of Silver Nitrate = 50.0mL&0.100M

Initial temperature = 19.25°C

Final temperature = 22.17°C

Heat capacity of calorimeter = 98.6Jper°C

To calculate the heat produced

Heat produced by the reaction = qreaction=-(qsolution+qcal)

qsolution=msΔT = (50.0g)(4.184Jg-1°C)(22.17-19.25)°C

= 611J

qcal=CΔT=(98.6Jper°C)(22.17-19.25)°C=288J

-qreaction=(qsolution+qcal)=(611+288)J=899J

Heat produced by the reaction = 899J

To calculate the heat produced on molar basis

899J was produced from 50.0mLof0.100M Silver nitrate solution

Moles of Silver = 50.0mL×0.100molAg+1000mLsoln = 5.00×10-3mol

On molar basis, heat produced

= 899J5.00×10-3molAg+=1.80×105Jmol-1Ag+=180kJmol-1Ag+

Heat produced = 180kJmol-1

To calculate the enthalpy of the reaction

The equation shows 2 moles of Silver, therefore the heat produced =
