The values in set 2: 22.64,22.58,22.62

The average deviation can be determined by addition of the differences of all numbers and average of all numbers; and further dividing the outcome by the number of items present in that list.

The average deviation of set 1 is calculated as,

  (22.5222.51)+(22.4822.51)+(22.5422.51)3=|+0.01|+|0.03|+|+0.03|3=0.02

The average deviation of set 2 is calculated as,

  (22.6422.61)+(22.5822.61)+(22.6222.61)3=|+0.03|+|0.03|+|+0.01|3=0.02

Both the sets set 1 and set 2 have the same precision value. But set 1 is said to be more precise as its value is more accurate than that of set 2 .
