This fault or deficiency of proteins causes abnormal functioning of that enzyme. Metabolic pathways are affected if a person is suffering from some metabolic disorder. Children suffering from a metabolic disorder appear normal at birth but later on start developing symptoms for the disease.

Explanation of Solution

Metabolic disorders affect the normal metabolic pathways due non-functioning of enzymes that mediate metabolic processes. Children suffering from metabolic disorders generally appear to be normal at the time of birth, but later on they start showing metabolic abnormalities.
