The rms speed for the CH2F2 molecule is

μrms=(3RTM)1/2=(3×8.314×2980.052)1/2=378.1m/s

The rms speed for the Ar molecule is

μrms=(3RTM)1/2=(3×8.314×2980.0399)1/2=431
