Chapter 10.2, Problem 3SB
Summary Introduction
To review:
The role of centromeres in mitosis.
Introduction:
The cell cycle is the sequence of events of a cell where DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), replication, nuclear division, and finally the cell division occurs. The three different stages of acell cycle are in the order, interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis. Mitosis follows interphaseand has several stages. Each stage in mitosisprepares the cell for thenuclear division, i.e., a sequence of events toseparate homologouschromosomes. At the end ofmitosis, nuclear divisionoccurs where two nuclei have the same set of chromosomes; cytokinesis followsmitosis.
