Formula used:

If a smooth curve is given by the parametric equations x(t) and y(t), then the slope of the curve is,

dydx=dy/dtdx/dt, dxdt0

Calculation:

Consider the parametric equations,

x=ty=t1

Differentiate x=t with respect to t, to get,

dxdt=12t ….. (1)

Differentiate y=t1 with respect to t, to get,

dydt=12t1 …… (2)

Divide equation (1) by (2), to get,

dydx=dy/dtdx/dt=12t112t=tt1 ….. (3)

Now, in order to find slope at t=5, substitute t=5 in equation (3).

That is.,

(dydx)t=5=551=54=1.11

Therefore, at t=5, slope is 1.11
