How do plant hormones (often called plant growth regulators) travel between secreting cells and target cells?

Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark
Summary Introduction

To explain: The way in which plant hormones travel between secreting cells and target cells.

Introduction: Plant hormones are chemical molecules or messengers produced in plants in response to their external stimuli. They are also known as “phytohormones”. It plays a major role in communication and co-ordination between the cells of plants also regulates the aspects of plant life including the growth and development.

Explanation of Solution

Plant hormones are signal molecules that regulate the plant processes. It acts as a messenger that travels throughout the plant and causes a specific physiological change in their target site. In plants, hormones travel between different parts through vascular tissue and even it travels in air as a gas to reach their target site. They also travel through plasmodesmata to communicate between cells.
