The reason for CFC’s to cause technical advancement to be a “double-edged” sword needs to be illustrated.

CFC’s are chlorofluorocarbon compounds which were used in refrigerator.

CFC’s are responsible for ozone layer depletion. It is a major concern for the atmosphere.

Explanation of Solution

CFC’s are examples of technical advancement as refrigerator is very much useful in the daily life to store foods, medicines and other materials. Without refrigerator modern life can’t progress. However CFC’s are not good for living beings. Due to ozone layer depletion by CFC’s ozone hole is created and harmful rays like ultraviolet ray is coming from sun which is responsible for skin cancer and other diseases. Thus CFC’s are like a “double-edged” sword.
