Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the genetic material carried by every eukaryotic organism. Every DNA is made up of a pair of condensed chromatid subunits and they two are held together at a region called centromere. Except metaphase, every duplicated chromosome contains two chromatids. The term chromatids are usually used to express a chromosome in its duplicated state.
