Concept Introduction:

Ozone is a component of photochemical smog and is formed by the action of sunlight. Ozone in the troposphere is polluted, but in the stratosphere, it is a natural and essential part of our atmosphere. HCFCs and CFCs are a class of inert compounds of carbon, chlorine, and fluorine. They are quite useful for many applications. But the inertness of HCFCs has an environmental effect because of the presence of chlorine. However, due to the presence of hydrogen, they are more reactive and less environmentally degrading than CFCs.
