Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving or swimming for a long time with the help of a tank containing compressed air.

Explanation of Solution

The ambient air pressure around the diver increases as the diver descends. Thus, rapid ascents can lead to decompression illness. A diver’s body absorbs nitrogen gas during a dive. Following Boyle’s Law, the nitrogen gas gets compressed due to water pressure. The body tissues are now filled with nitrogen. Upon quick ascent, the diver cannot exhale the nitrogen which might have expanded already...
